North Captiva Island

North Captiva Island is a perfect relaxation getaway. What makes it so relaxing is the small population.

To get there you have to take a ferry over because no cars are allowed on the island. Instead of cars they use golf carts..... or your own two feet! Another trait that makes North Captiva so special is that they have no hotels. You can rent a beach house or get a condo.

North Captiva Island only has four restaurants and I have gone to three of them. Our favorite restaurant was Barnacle Phil's. It was very casual and you could order take out. My family's favorite food to get there would definitely be Jamaican Jerk Shrimp. The other restaurants that I have gone to are Over the Waterfront, and The Boat House. They are both more fancy menus and their food is very good. When we don't go out to eat we grill out at our house. The only restaurant that we have not gone to is Mango's Café and Grill.

North Captiva has such a beautiful beach with clean blue waters and very pretty seashells. Most beach towns have put-put, shopping, and go-carts but North Captiva Island has none of the hustle and bustle. That might seem really boring but that is what makes North Captiva Island so relaxing. North Captiva is a gorgeous, peaceful island and I definitely recommend going there.
